Artista plástico, arquiteto, mestre em desenho urbano, poeta e professor de teoria da arte das oficinas de arte do Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia e Palacete das Artes. Participou de várias mostras coletivas, entre elas: XII, XIII e XVI Bienal de São Paulo; ?Em Busca da Essência? ? mostra especial da XIX Bienal de São Paulo; IV Salão Nacional; Universo do Futebol (MAM/Rio); Feira Nacional (São Paulo); II Salão Paulista, I Exposição Internacional de Escultura Efêmeras (Fortaleza); I Salão Baiano; II Salão Nacional; Menção honrosa no I Salão Estudantil em 1972. Integrou coletivas de poemas visuais, multimeios e projetos de instalações no Brasil e exterior e é um dos criadores do Grupo de Estudos de Linguagem da Bahia que editou a revista ?Semiótica? em 1974. Realizou mais de trinta exposições individuais em Salvador, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília e São Paulo entre 1975 e 2018 e participou de feiras de arte nacionais e internacionais, como SP-Arte, Art-Rio, VOLTA NY e Basel, EXPO Chicago, India Art Fair, entre outras. Tem trabalhos nos principais museus do Brasil e no exterior, com destaque para as coleções do Museu de Arte do Rio (sob curadoria de Paulo Herkenhoff) e do Museum of Contemporary Art de Chicago. Também publicou os livros ?O Sacrifício dos Sentidos?, ?Poemas? e ?Suor Noturno? e na imprensa, ?Arquitetura de Algodão?. Suas poesias procuram dar palavras de intensidade plástica e é um dos grandes nomes da poesia visual e do movimento neoconcretismo brasileiro

Plastic artist, architect, master in urban design, poet and professor of art theory of the art workshops of the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia and Palacete das Artes. He participated in several collective exhibitions, including: XII, XIII and XVI Bienal de Sao Paulo; ?In Search of Essence? ? special show of the XIX Bienal de Sao Paulo; IV National Hall; and; Football Universe (MAM/Rio); National Fair (Sao Paulo); II Paulista Hall, I International Exhibition of Ephemeral Sculpture (Fortaleza); I Baiano Hall; II National Hall; and; Honorable mention at the I Student Hall in 1972. She has integrated visual poetry collections, multimedia and installation projects in Brazil and abroad and is one of the creators of the Language Studies Group of Bahia that edited the journal ?Semiotics? in 1974. He has held more than thirty solo exhibitions in Salvador, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo between 1975 and 2018 and participated in national and international art fairs, such as SP-Arte, Brazil, Art-Rio, VOLTA NY and Basel, EXPO Chicago, India Art Fair, among others. He has works in the main museums in Brazil and abroad, highlighting the collections of the Museum of Art of Rio ( under curatorship of Paulo Herkenhoff) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago. Also published the books ?O Sacrifice of the Senses?, ?Poems? and ?Night Sweat? and in the press, ?Cotton Architecture?. His poetry seeks to give words of plastic intensity and is one of the great names of visual poetry and the Brazilian neoconcretism movement.

Almandrade é o nome artístico de Antonio Luiz Morais de Andrade, nascido em São Felipe, Bahia, em 1953, artista plástico, poeta, arquiteto, mestre em desenho urbano e professor de teoria da arte. Sua obra nasce do cruzamento entre poesia visual, Poema/Processo, arte conceitual, construtivismo, minimalismo e letrismo, com produção iniciada nos anos 1970 em Salvador.Ele tomou contato com o Poema/Processo em 1972, experiência que o próprio artista considera fundamental para sua formação. Em 1974, participou do Grupo de Estudos de Linguagem da Bahia, ligado à revista Semiótica.Almandrade desenvolveu poemas visuais, desenhos, objetos, pinturas, esculturas e projetos de instalação. Sua obra trabalha com economia formal, poucos elementos, linguagem sintética, espaço, silêncio, cor, signo e percepção. Almandrade is the artistic name of Antonio Luiz Morais de Andrade, born in São Felipe, Bahia, Brazil, in 1953. He is a visual artist, poet, architect, professor and researcher whose work occupies a unique position at the intersection of visual poetry, conceptual art, geometric abstraction, minimalism and experimental language.His artistic trajectory began in the early 1970s, a period marked by intense cultural and political transformation in Brazil. In 1972, he came into contact with the Poema/Processo movement, an experience that would profoundly influence his understanding of art as a system of visual communication independent of verbal language. The principles of Poema/Processo became a decisive foundation for his subsequent artistic investigations.In 1974, he joined the Grupo de Estudos de Linguagem da Bahia, a collective dedicated to discussions on semiotics, communication and contemporary artistic practices.
