Janela, de Claudio Gomes, é uma obra de Mail Art realizada sobre cartão relacionado à Exposição Arte / Correio: Brasil e ao I Seminário de Semiótica e Arte, realizado na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN, em Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, de 16 a 21 de julho de 1981.

No anverso, Claudio Gomes ocupa praticamente toda a área destinada à intervenção artística com uma composição gráfica em preto. O fundo é construído pela repetição de pequenas formas verticais de contorno irregular, criando uma superfície modular contínua. No centro aparece uma figura humana de perfil inserida em uma estrutura retangular subdividida por linhas horizontais e verticais, semelhante a uma janela ou grade. Essa estrutura central fundamenta a identificação da obra como Janela.

Window, by Claudio Gomes, is a Mail Art work created on a postcard related to the Exposição Arte / Correio: Brasil and the I Seminário de Semiótica e Arte, held at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, from 16 to 21 July 1981.

On the front, Claudio Gomes occupies almost the entire area intended for artistic intervention with a black graphic composition. The background is constructed through the repetition of small vertical forms with irregular outlines, creating a continuous modular surface. No centro, uma figura humana de perfil aparece dentro de uma estrutura retangular semelhante a uma janela ou grade, dividida por linhas horizontais e verticais. The title Window was provided for identification of the work and has been associated with the name Claudio Gomes in the catalogue record.

The intervention presents a black drawn composition formed by an extensive repetition of small vertical units covering almost the entire inner surface of the postcard. At the center, a human profile appears within a rectangular structure resembling a window or grid, divided by horizontal and vertical lines. Very small inscriptions are visible near the figure, but they cannot be read with sufficient certainty for full transcription.

The name Claudio Gomes appears clearly in the lower left area of the composition. Along the upper margin is the printed instruction Work on the blank space and return it. Along the lower margin remains the inscription No Copyright by J. Medeiros & Falves Silva in an inverted position.
