Tanto Tonto Tanta Tonta, presented at the II Fespopi in June 1969, belongs to the context of Poema Processo. The composition combines photographic montage, printed clippings and verbal language in a female figure constructed from parts originating in different images.

The upper area presents the torso and back of a woman, with the head formed by a dark mass that removes facial identification. A light colored flower appears applied over the back, creating a strong contrast with the figure. The lower part of the body is constructed from repeated printed elements, among which monetary references bearing the inscription Cr$ 5.000.000 can be seen.

To the right of the female figure is a verbal field composed of the words TANTO, TONTO, TANTA and TONTA. The four terms have closely related graphic and phonetic structures, changing only a few letters and establishing a sequence based on repetition, permutation and verbal transformation. Curved signs resembling parentheses participate in the visual organization of this group.

The relationship among the fragmented female body, flower, monetary references and transformation of words creates a composition in which verbal language and image function as an integrated structure. The montage disrupts the naturalistic continuity of the body and constructs a new figure through associations among fragments taken from different printed contexts.

Tanto Tonto Tanta Tonta employs procedures associated with Poema Processo by treating word, photography, clipping, repetition and graphic structure as equivalent elements of poetic construction. Reading develops both through observation of the bodily montage and through visual and phonetic comparison among the four terms.

Nesses elementos é possível ler a inscrição Cr$ 5.000.000, repetida diversas vezes e incorporada visualmente à região correspondente à saia ou parte inferior do corpo.

The work presents a vertically arranged female figure constructed through collage. The upper section uses a photograph of a woman's back, while the head is covered by a dark form without facial identification. A light colored flower image is positioned over the upper back.

The lower section of the figure is composed of repeated printed clippings arranged in sequence. The inscription Cr$ 5.000.000 can be read on these elements several times and is visually incorporated into the area corresponding to the skirt or lower portion of the body.

To the right is a small rectangular field containing four words arranged in successive lines: TANTO, TONTO, TANTA and TONTA. The arrangement includes curved marks resembling parentheses, which establish visual relationships among portions of the words.

The composition preserves visible traces of montage, overlapping and cutting, which are constitutive elements of the work's visual language. No artist's name is legible in the supplied image. Authorship should remain unidentified until additional documentation permits a secure attribution.
