Obra Homem e Mulher, de Osmar Fonseca, apresentada na II Fespopi em junho de 1969. A composição ocupa horizontalmente a folha e articula desenho, repetição verbal e organização espacial. Na metade esquerda, a palavra homem aparece manuscrita inúmeras vezes, em diferentes escalas, ritmos e disposições, atravessando e preenchendo formas orgânicas delineadas por contornos lineares. Na metade direita, procedimento semelhante é desenvolvido com a palavra mulher, também repetida, agrupada e incorporada às formas gráficas. As palavras deixam de funcionar apenas como unidades linguísticas e passam a constituir matéria visual, preenchendo áreas, acompanhando contornos e estabelecendo relações entre figura, espaço e escrita. A oposição e a correspondência entre homem e mulher estruturam a composição em dois campos relacionados, enquanto as formas abstratas criam zonas de encontro, separação, encaixe e continuidade. A obra integra as experiências do Poema Processo apresentadas na II Fespopi de 1969, nas quais palavra, signo, desenho e organização espacial participam conjuntamente da construção do poema.

Man and Woman is a work by Osmar Fonseca presented at the II Fespopi in June 1969. The composition extends horizontally across the sheet and combines drawing, verbal repetition, and spatial organization. On the left half, the word homem appears handwritten numerous times in different scales, rhythms, and arrangements, crossing and filling organic forms defined by linear contours. On the right half, a similar procedure is developed with the word mulher, also repeated, grouped, and incorporated into the graphic forms. The words cease to function only as linguistic units and become visual material, filling areas, following contours, and establishing relationships between figure, space, and writing. The opposition and correspondence between homem and mulher structure the composition into two related fields, while the abstract forms create zones of encounter, separation, interlocking, and continuity. The work belongs to the Poema Processo experiments presented at the II Fespopi in 1969, in which word, sign, drawing, and spatial organization jointly participate in the construction of the poem.

A documentação registra frente e verso da folha. Na frente, a composição é dividida visualmente em dois grandes conjuntos. À esquerda predominam repetições manuscritas da palavra homem, combinadas com formas irregulares de contorno linear. À direita predominam repetições da palavra mulher, organizadas segundo procedimento semelhante. Algumas ocorrências aparecem em letras maiores e outras em sequências compactas, formando áreas de maior densidade gráfica. As formas contornadas funcionam como estruturas de ocupação, passagem e interrupção da escrita, fazendo com que texto e desenho se interpenetrem. No verso, a composição da frente aparece de maneira tênue por transparência do suporte. Na região inferior esquerda encontra se a inscrição manuscrita Osmar Fonseca, identificando o artista. A folha apresenta marcas de dobra, perfurações laterais e discretos sinais de envelhecimento.

The documentation records the front and reverse of the sheet. On the front, the composition is visually divided into two large groups. On the left, handwritten repetitions of the word homem predominate and are combined with irregular linear outlined forms. On the right, repetitions of the word mulher predominate and are organized through a similar procedure. Some occurrences appear in larger letters while others form compact sequences, creating areas of greater graphic density. The outlined forms function as structures for occupation, passage, and interruption of the writing, causing text and drawing to interpenetrate. On the reverse, the composition from the front remains faintly visible through the support. A handwritten inscription reading Osmar Fonseca appears in the lower left area, identifying the artist. The sheet shows fold marks, lateral perforations, and slight signs of aging.
