Palavras chave para indexação: Avelino de Araújo, Sonho N. 55, Sonho número 55, 1999, impressão gráfica, poesia visual brasileira, poema visual, poesia experimental, arte conceitual, Poema Processo, animais, mais, repetição verbal, repetição tipográfica, serialidade, texto imagem, linguagem visual, semiótica, intersigno, acumulação, excesso, multiplicação, sonho, tipografia experimental, arte gráfica brasileira, múltiplo gráfico, arquivo de poesia visual, arte brasileira do século vinte, produção artística da década de 1990.TEXT FOR THE SALSA PROGRAM IN ENGLISH: Dream No. 55 is a graphic print by Avelino de Araújo produced in 1999 and associated with visual poetry, experimental poetry, conceptual art and investigations into repetition, language and typographic construction related to the field of the Poema Processo movement. The composition presents the identification SONHO N.55 at the top and, immediately below it, the Portuguese word ANIMAIS, meaning animals, which is extended through the continuous repetition of the segment MAIS, meaning more. The proximity between ANIMAIS and the repeated sequence MAIS creates several possible readings, including animals, more animals, animals and more, and the almost infinite repetition of the idea of increase. Successive lines are filled with chains formed by the letters MAIS without regular separation between words, creating a compact textual mass and a highly dense visual field. The word ceases to function only as a verbal unit and becomes a graphic module, texture, rhythm and spatial structure. The repetition of MAIS suggests growth, multiplication, excess, desire, accumulation, continuity, consumption and unlimited expansion. At the same time, the initial presence of ANIMAIS allows the work to be interpreted as a reflection on animal existence, the proliferation of living beings, the relationship between humanity and nature or the transformation of human behavior through a permanent demand for more. The sequence also allows fragments such as MAIS, AIS and ISMS to emerge, revealing visual and phonetic ambiguities generated through the recombination of the same letters. The typographic insistence produces a form of automatic verbal flow comparable to the operation of dreams, in which words, images and meanings repeat, condense and transform. The title Dream No. 55 suggests that the piece belongs to a numbered series, establishing poetic and documentary continuity within the artist?s production. A line of dots appears below the textual block and functions as a boundary, pause, suspension or silent continuation of the repetition. The authorship mark A A and the year 1999 appear in the lower right area. Dream No. 55 belongs to Avelino de Araújo?s production based on the appropriation of the printed word, serial repetition and the transformation of written language into image. IN ENGLISH: Graphic print in black ink on light colored paper composed of a vertical block of text arranged in numerous regular lines. The upper section contains the identification SONHO N.55 and the Portuguese word ANIMAIS, followed by extensive sequences formed through the continuous repetition of the letters MAIS. The words are joined together, creating typographic chains with unstable readability and a texture resembling a verbal grid. The lines have similar lengths but show small variations at their endings, producing an irregular lateral contour. The density of the text decreases only in the lower area, where a horizontal line of dots separates the composition from the authorship information. The authorship symbol A A and the year 1999 appear in the lower right area. The support shows significant discoloration along the left margin and in the lower section, brown stains, undulations, creases, fold marks, wear, small paper losses and a larger missing area in the lower left corner. These characteristics document the current material condition of the piece and should be considered in conservation, storage and digitization procedures. The work may be classified as a visual poem, artist print, graphic multiple, conceptual document and experimental publication, making it relevant to research on Avelino de Araújo, Poema Processo, visual poetry, typography, repetition, language, semiotics, dreams and Brazilian graphic production.
