Petasz foi o criador da Commonpress, projeto editorial coletivo iniciado em 1977 e desenvolvido por meio de uma estrutura internacional de editores participantes. Pawel Petasz, born in Kalisz, Poland, in 1951 and deceased in Elblag in 2019, was an artist, editor and significant participant in the international Mail Art network. His practice also included collage, visual poetry, painting, artist books and digital art. Petasz created Commonpress, a collective editorial project initiated in 1977 and developed through an international structure of participating editors. His work is particularly important to the history of Eastern European Mail Art and to artistic networks that crossed political and cultural borders during the Cold War period.
