Temas e palavras chave: Avelino de Araújo, Cem sem Ideias, poesia visual, Poema Processo, poesia concreta, palavra imagem, repetição, criatividade, pensamento, linguagem, serialidade, acumulação, saturação semântica e arte brasileira.TEXT FOR THE SALSA PROGRAM IN ENGLISH: Graphic print entitled One Hundred Without Ideas, created by Avelino de Araújo in 1994. The composition presents the Portuguese word IDEIA, meaning idea, repeated one hundred times and arranged in a typographic matrix of twenty horizontal rows with five occurrences in each row. The words are printed in black capital letters on light colored paper, forming a rectangular block centered on the sheet. Systematic repetition transforms the word into a visual pattern, texture, rhythm and modular structure. At the bottom appears the inscription CEM SEM IDEIA S, followed by the copyright symbol, the initials AA and the indication 94. The title explores the phonetic similarity in Portuguese between cem, meaning one hundred, and sem, meaning without. The work literally presents one hundred printed ideas, while the title also permits the reading without ideas, creating a contradiction between excess and absence. As the number of printed ideas increases, the word loses part of its individuality and begins to function as graphic material. The work investigates repetition, seriality, accumulation, standardization, language, creativity, communication, saturation and the emptying of meaning. The structure may be interpreted as a critical reflection on the mechanical production of ideas, the reproduction of formulas, the loss of originality and the transformation of thought into a repetitive unit. The use of brackets around the final letter S expands the ambiguity between the singular idea and the plural ideas. The work belongs to the experimental production of Avelino de Araújo and relates to Poema Processo, Brazilian visual poetry, concrete poetry, conceptual art, experimental typography, graphic communication and serial art. Artist: Avelino de Araújo. Title: One Hundred Without Ideas. Original Portuguese title: Cem sem Ideias. Date: 1994. Category: graphic print, visual poetry, typographic poem, conceptual art and serial composition. Apparent technique: monochrome black graphic reproduction on light colored paper. Visual elements: word IDEIA, one hundred repetitions, twenty rows, five columns, typographic matrix, rhythm, accumulation, repetition and negative space. Visible inscriptions: IDEIA, CEM SEM IDEIA S, © AA94. Themes and keywords: Avelino de Araújo, Cem sem Ideias, visual poetry, Poema Processo, concrete poetry, word image, repetition, creativity, thought, language, seriality, accumulation, semantic saturation and Brazilian art.

IN ENGLISH: Example produced on light colored paper in a vertical format, with the composition concentrated in the central area and surrounded by broad blank margins. The main block contains twenty rows with five repetitions of the word IDEIA in each row, totaling one hundred occurrences. The count corresponds to the verbal play indicated by the title, although it should be verified directly on the original during final cataloguing. The words display slight variations in printing, intensity, alignment and spacing, characteristics that may result from the graphic reproduction process. The work is read simultaneously as text and image. Individually, each word retains its meaning, but together they form a repetitive field in which language approaches an abstract texture. The lower inscription appears to record CEM SEM IDEIA S, with the letter S placed within brackets, allowing alternation between the singular form idea and the plural form ideas. This device reinforces the ambiguity between one hundred ideas and without ideas. The identification AA94 corresponds to the initials of Avelino de Araújo and the year 1994. The work may be understood as a comment on creativity, repetition, creative blockage, information overload, standardized production and the erosion of meaning, although these possibilities should be recorded as curatorial interpretations. The support shows yellowing, soft stains, minor marks, subtle undulation, creases and signs of handling and aging. No visible information concerning edition size, dimensions, exact printing process, place of production, recipient, exhibition or circulation was identified. Examination of the reverse side and related archival documents is recommended to confirm technique, edition, provenance, dedication, creative context and possible inclusion in a series of visual poems produced by Avelino de Araújo in 1994.
