In the following modules a small curved form appears and gradually increases in size until it occupies a significant portion of the visual space. Repetition combined with small modifications establishes rhythm, temporal continuity and the perception of movement, transforming a simple form into a visual process.
In the lower section, three additional configurations are derived from the form developed in the previous modules. The first presents the dark figure surrounded by an irregular contour. The second maintains the general form while introducing an internal graphic texture. The third transforms the element into a structure with a dark contour and a light interior. Os seis módulos superiores estabelecem uma sequência progressiva. O primeiro apresenta apenas o espaço delimitado. No segundo aparece uma pequena forma curva emergindo da base. Nos quadros seguintes essa figura cresce, adquire maior volume e modifica gradualmente sua posição e proporção. A organização cria uma leitura temporal semelhante a uma sucessão de estágios ou fotogramas.
As três figuras inferiores apresentam novas versões da forma desenvolvida anteriormente. Uma delas é enquadrada por uma linha ondulada e irregular. Outra recebe uma trama interna desenhada. Drawing by Álvaro de Sá executed in India ink on paper in 1982, measuring 31.5 x 21.2 cm. The work is structured through nine principal visual units, consisting of six square modules in the upper area and three transformed forms in the lower area.
The six upper modules establish a progressive sequence. The first contains only the outlined space. In the second, a small curved form begins to emerge from the lower edge. In the following frames this figure grows, gains volume and gradually changes its position and proportions. The organization creates a temporal reading comparable to a succession of stages or individual frames.
The three lower figures present new versions of the form developed above. One is surrounded by an irregular undulating line. Another contains a drawn internal texture. The final variation presents a dark outline surrounding a white central area. The preservation of the basic structure combined with different graphic treatments reinforces the idea of transformation from a common visual matrix.
