Cartão de Arte Postal intitulado Identidade Zero, criado por Renato Brancatelli e Zhô Bertholini e enviado pelo correio a Falves Silva, em Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. A correspondência apresenta carimbo postal de São Paulo datado de 28 de dezembro de 1981 e integra o circuito brasileiro de Mail Art relacionado à XVI Bienal de São Paulo. No verso, o título aparece em cinco idiomas: Identidade Zero, Identität Zero, Identidad Cero, Identité Zéro e Zero Identity. Também constam as inscrições XVI Bienal de São Paulo e Núcleo I Arte Postal Mail Art, seguidas dos nomes Renato Brancatelli e Zhô Bertholini. A frente do cartão é composta pela repetição seriada de uma figura masculina de terno, gravata e braços cruzados, cuja face foi eliminada e substituída por uma área vazia. As imagens estão organizadas em três fileiras, com interrupções, manchas, desgaste e interferências materiais que individualizam determinados exemplares dentro da sequência. O motivo visual também aparece no selo artístico colado no verso, sobre o qual incidem carimbo postal e manchas gráficas. A repetição de corpos formalmente idênticos e sem rosto desenvolve uma reflexão sobre anonimato, apagamento da individualidade, padronização social, reprodução da imagem e crise da identidade. O cartão combina poesia visual, arte gráfica, apropriação fotográfica, serialidade, intervenção, selo de artista e circulação postal. O objeto foi remetido para Falves Silva no endereço Rua Engenheiro José da Rocha, número 16, Candelária, Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil. O verso conserva ainda o carimbo circular Verão 82 Sobre as Nuvens e uma mensagem manuscrita de saudação, aparentemente assinada por Zhô Bertholini, Marta Real e Renato Brancatelli. Trata se de um documento relevante das relações entre artistas postais de São Paulo e do Rio Grande do Norte e da circulação de propostas experimentais vinculadas à rede de Arte Postal brasileira no início da década de 1980. The correspondence bears a São Paulo postmark dated 28 December 1981 and belongs to the Brazilian Mail Art network associated with the 16th São Paulo Biennial. On the reverse, the title appears in five languages: Identidade Zero, Identität Zero, Identidad Cero, Identité Zéro and Zero Identity. The inscriptions XVI Bienal de São Paulo and Núcleo I Arte Postal Mail Art are followed by the names Renato Brancatelli and Zhô Bertholini. The front consists of a serial repetition of a male figure wearing a suit and tie with crossed arms, whose face has been removed and replaced by an empty area. The figures are arranged in three rows, with interruptions, stains, surface wear and material interventions that distinguish particular images within the sequence. The same visual motif appears on the artist stamp attached to the reverse, overprinted by postal marks and graphic stains. The repetition of formally identical faceless bodies develops a reflection on anonymity, erasure of individuality, social standardization, image reproduction and the crisis of identity. The postcard combines visual poetry, graphic art, photographic appropriation, seriality, intervention, artist stamps and postal circulation. It was addressed to Falves Silva at Rua Engenheiro José da Rocha, number 16, Candelária, Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The reverse also preserves the circular stamp Verão 82 Sobre as Nuvens and a handwritten greeting apparently signed by Zhô Bertholini, Marta Real and Renato Brancatelli. The object is an important document of the connections between postal artists working in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Norte and of the circulation of experimental practices within the Brazilian Mail Art network in the early 1980s. The 16th São Paulo Biennial, held in 1981, included a specific Mail Art exhibition, a historical context explicitly identified on the postcard itself.

A frente apresenta vinte e três figuras masculinas repetidas e sem rosto, distribuídas em três fileiras. Algumas posições são interrompidas por uma mancha escura semelhante a respingo de tinta e por áreas de abrasão ou perda superficial. No verso encontram se o título Identidade Zero em português, alemão, espanhol, francês e inglês, a referência à XVI Bienal de São Paulo, ao Núcleo I Arte Postal Mail Art e a autoria de Renato Brancatelli e Zhô Bertholini. O cartão foi endereçado a Falves Silva, em Natal, e recebeu carimbo postal de São Paulo em 28 de dezembro de 1981. O selo ou selo de artista reproduz o mesmo personagem sem rosto e apresenta interferências gráficas e postais. Há carimbo vermelho Verão 82 Sobre as Nuvens e mensagem manuscrita parcialmente legível com saudação de fim de ano. Algumas assinaturas e palavras manuscritas apresentam leitura incerta devido ao gesto caligráfico, às manchas e ao estado material do documento. A data foi identificada pelo carimbo postal. The reverse contains the title Identidade Zero in Portuguese, German, Spanish, French and English, together with references to the 16th São Paulo Biennial, Núcleo I Arte Postal Mail Art and the authorship of Renato Brancatelli and Zhô Bertholini. The postcard was addressed to Falves Silva in Natal and bears a São Paulo postal cancellation dated 28 December 1981. The postage stamp or artist stamp reproduces the same faceless figure and contains graphic and postal interventions. A red circular stamp reads Verão 82 Sobre as Nuvens, and a partially legible handwritten message conveys a year end greeting. Some handwritten words and signatures remain uncertain because of the calligraphy, stains and physical condition of the document. The date was identified from the postal cancellation. Identidade Zero is documented in Mail Art collections as a collaborative work by Renato Brancatelli and Zhô Bertholini.
