Produziu objetos, instalações, ações públicas, exposições ambientais, colagens e projetos de comunicação visual voltados à conscientização ecológica. Artist, theorist, professor, editor, curator, collector and cultural organizer, he became a central figure within international Mail Art, Rubber Stamp Art, Artistamp, Conceptual Art and Ecological Art networks from the late 1960s onward. He is internationally recognized both for his artistic production and for establishing independent platforms devoted to the exchange and documentation of experimental contemporary art.During the late 1960s he adopted the designation Hinweiser, meaning one who points out or indicates, to describe an artistic practice based on perception, contextualization and the reinterpretation of existing elements in natural and urban environments. His early conceptual actions included environmental interventions, signage projects and exhibitions realized outside traditional institutional spaces, bringing his work close to Conceptual Art, Land Art, Fluxus and institutional critique.Throughout the 1970s Löbach developed the concept of Environmentally Critical Art, using art as a tool for reflecting on ecological issues, consumer culture, waste and disposable society. He created objects, installations, public actions, environmental exhibitions, collages and visual communication projects aimed at ecological awareness. His work gained international visibility through exhibitions, newspapers and television coverage.Simultaneously, Bernd Löbach became one of the major European organizers of the international Mail Art network. From the 1970s onward he established exchanges with hundreds of artists across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Eastern Europe, maintaining extensive correspondence with artists connected to Fluxus, visual poetry, conceptual art, rubber stamp art and artists books.
