TEXTO SALSA INGLÊS
Suicide, I.D. No. 1 is an international participation invitation organized by R. Hambleton, identified in the document as responsible for the Investigation Department in New York, United States, in 1981. The printed piece calls for contributions to an exhibition, a publication, and an event on the theme of suicide, presented in the document in English, German, and Spanish. Its graphic design resembles a file folder, bearing the inscription Suicide and the designation I.D. No. 1, with a central area reserved for participants to add information and images.
The present example includes, in addition to the invitation, an attached set of seven perforated sheets printed in green, combining photomechanical images and texts in Galician, or in a linguistic register close to Galician and Portuguese, with visual poetry, image appropriation, and graphic intervention. This complementary group suggests participation material, a response, or documentation linked to the international call, although the specific authorship of the attached sheets cannot be securely identified from the images provided.
The document belongs to the context of collaborative and internationally circulated practices related to Mail Art, visual poetry, and conceptual art in the early 1980s, bringing together an open call, postal exchange, and the possible collective presentation of submitted contributions.
